Job summary

Saint Anthony Hospital is seeking a part-time Telecommunication Operator to manage a computerized telephone network and alarms for our Chicago campus. The role emphasizes prompt, courteous customer service and accurate information handling in a fast-paced environment.

The position involves evening and night rotating shifts, Spanish-English communication, and collaboration with clinical and administrative staff to maintain seamless communications and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Written and verbal English/Spanish communication required.
• Basic computer knowledge (Word/Excel).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle high volumes of incoming calls.
• Professional telephone etiquette.
• Previous operator or call center experience preferred.
• Typing 30 wpm preferred.
• Ability to multitask and switch priorities effectively.
• Hospital call center experience preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate telephone communications with professional customer service.
• Maintain daily logs and on-call schedules; report discrepancies.
• Monitor alarms and support emergency response procedures.
• Schedule hospital department appointments.
• Screen maintenance for Administrative and Medical Staff information.
• Assist in training new employees and cross-training staff.
• Perform alternate pager transactions and support related database administration.
