Allegheny Health Network is seeking a medical record coder responsible for reviewing medical information, applying ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and abstracting data for statistical requests. The role supports efficient cash flow by managing unbilled coding reports and staying current with coding guideline changes.

The position requires at least a high school diploma or GED, coding coursework, and 1 year of hospital or clinic coding experience, with RHIT/RHIA/CPC credentials preferred.

Qualificações

• High School/GED required.
• Completion of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology coding courses.
• 1 year hospital and/or physician coding.
• 1 year coding at mid-level facilities or clinics.
• 1 year coding major surgeries, observations and/or E/Ms.
• Medical Terminology.
• Strong data entry skills.
• Understanding of computer applications.
• Ability to work with health care team.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCS-P, CPC, COC, or CPC-A credentials preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Reviews and interprets medical information to determine ICD-10 CM/CPT codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Abstracts data elements to satisfy statistical requests and enters data into designated system.
• Manages medical information and cash flow related to unbilled coding reports.
• Keeps up-to-date with ICD-10 CM/CPT guideline changes by training and reviews.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
