Job summary

Jefferson Health in Stratford, NJ is seeking a Generalist Medical Lab Technician/Scientist (FT, Days) to perform laboratory analyses and ensure accurate test results for clinical diagnoses. The role requires specimen handling, data entry in LIS, equipment maintenance, and strict adherence to QC and regulatory standards.

The MLT/MLS will work with a team across departments, provide training support, and may perform phlebotomy at hospital locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required or completion of Military Medical Laboratory specialist Training.
• Less than 1 year prior training in a laboratory setting (student training accepted).
• Bachelor’s Degree required or completion of Military Medical Laboratory specialist Training for MLS track.

Responsibilities

• Properly processes specimens following established protocols for proper patient identification and labelling.
• Specimen collection via phlebotomy and venipuncture may be required at specific locations.
• Determines acceptability of specimens by visual inspection and QC recognition of abnormal results.
• Documents reports and maintains records of test results in LIS.
• Operates analytical equipment and maintains devices per manufacturer specs.
• Adheres to QC policies and documents quality control results to ensure accuracy of results.
• Participates in proficiency testing and annual regulatory requirements.
