Job summary

Willoughby Post Acute is seeking a dedicated cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. You will follow menus, prepare meals in large quantities, and ensure safety and sanitation.

You will record temperatures, assist with serving, and work cooperatively with the dietary staff to meet resident needs. A high school diploma and a year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience cooking in hospital or long-term care settings (1 year).
• Ability to follow prepared menus and portion controls.
• Ability to maintain safe, sanitary kitchen practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and follow menus with portion control.
• Record food temperatures and assist with serving meals.
• Report resident care concerns to administrator or director of nurses.
• Supervise in absence of Dietary Supervisor and ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
