Job summary

Selmer Post Acute is seeking an experienced Cook to support the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor. The role requires preparing meals, following menus and diet guidelines, and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent and ServSafe certification, with at least one year of hospital or long-term care cooking experience. Responsibilities include recording temperatures, preparing special diets, and assisting with meal service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe Certificate required; PCC preferred.
• One year of cook experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures for meals.
• Assist with serving meals and supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
