Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a cook to prepare, serve, and forecast menu items in our hospital kitchen.

You will follow recipes, ensure proper portion sizes, temperatures, and presentation, and assist with dish room and sanitation. Required to work every other weekend and holidays; High School diploma preferred; prior hospital or restaurant cooking experience is preferred; must communicate effectively in English and be able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
Previous cooking experience, preferably in a hospital or restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Prepares all foods, ensuring readiness for service according to scheduled service periods, recipes and quantities.
Ensures foods are served at proper temperatures and presented to best effect.
Follows recipes and ensures correct portions for service.
Reviews menu items with staff and informs of changes in time for action.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the work area and related equipment.
Assists with dish room and general sanitation duties as needed.
