Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, basic English communication skills, and prior cooking experience in a hospital or high-volume setting. On-the-job training is provided; every other weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma preferred; able to communicate in English.
• No hospital experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• Experience in cooking for hospital or high-volume service is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all foods for service as scheduled, ensuring quality and portion sizes.
• Ensures served foods are at proper temperatures and properly merchandised.
• Follows recipes and prepares correct forecasted amounts for service periods.
• Reviews menu items with staff regarding content and service method.
• Alerts staff to any menu changes with sufficient lead time.
• Ensures preparations align with recipes and forecasted needs for timely service.
• Assists with general sanitation of the food service area and dish room.
• Keeps work area clean and maintained at all times.
