Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The role oversees electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and other building systems on a first shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm, M–F).

Responsibilities include supervising maintenance staff, planning schedules, ensuring timely repairs, and training personnel. Requires strong knowledge of building systems and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least five years of maintenance experience, including supervisory experience.
• Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
• Perform or supervise work necessary to inspect, maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and special systems.
• Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
• Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
• Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Trains maintenance department staff.
• Handles discipline of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
