Job summary

Crothall Healthcare, a Compass Group USA company, is seeking a Facilities Plumber for the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU on the 1st shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm, Mon–Fri). The role plans and performs daily plumbing and utility maintenance across the medical center, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and NFPA standards.

You will coordinate trades staff, manage work orders, inspect sites, and work with vendors to maintain equipment and buildings.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of plumbing experience.
• Hospital plumbing experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules the activities of skilled trades' staff in the maintenance and repair of hospital buildings and equipment
• Monitors work orders to completion of projects to ensure that labor, supplies and materials are charged to appropriate work orders
• Provides direction to staff in the accurate methods to use in the performance of their duties to ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors
• Conducts inspections of work sites to ensure that the work conforms and aligns with the job specifications.
• Recommends and implements policies and procedures for assigned area
• Estimates equipment parts and materials needed to complete assigned work
• Maintains communication with vendors, contractors and departmental personnel to coordinate activities and information regarding the repair, alteration and maintenance of equipment, machinery, systems and buildings
• Conduct all work in accordance with the Joint Commission, NFPA and all other applicable regulatory agencies.
