Harbor Oaks Hospital in New Baltimore, MI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The position covers routine and specific maintenance tasks, including grounds work, to keep the facility functioning smoothly.

Essential duties include general maintenance and repair of the building and equipment (plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repairs), emergency call coverage, safe tool handling, and adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance or facility operations.
• Knowledge of standard practices in general trades.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment (plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical repair) as needed.
• Act as back-up for call person in case of emergency and respond promptly.
• Handle all equipment safely and use tools properly.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules and complete reports.
• Inspect/maintain emergency power equipment and fire safety systems; test generators weekly.
• Inspect/maintain plumbing; repair fixtures; refresh furniture as needed.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
