Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform basic maintenance, repair and preventative tasks across hospital equipment and grounds. Under supervision, you will assist skilled trades and ensure safety and proper documentation of work orders.

Responsibilities include servicing medical equipment, maintaining lighting, assisting with seasonal outdoor duties, and supporting the maintenance team with general tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid state driver’s license; driving record must meet insurer requirements.
• Powered Industrial Truck certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and calibrates basic hospital equipment and grounds.
• Ensures work areas are well lit and bulbs are replaced as needed.
• Performs basic preventative maintenance according to schedule check lists.
• Assists skilled trades and maintenance mechanics on more complex tasks.
• Maintains tools in proper repair and uses safety techniques.
• Assists in seasonal outdoor work (snow, sand/salt, parking lots).
• Completes work orders and records materials used.
• Performs other general maintenance tasks as required.
• Performs related duties as directed.
