Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a General Maintenance Worker - Facilities Engineering (Full Time, Days) to perform maintenance, repair, and alterations of equipment, systems, and facilities under supervision. The role includes boiler/HVAC duties, electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry tasks, with emphasis on safety and timely service.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma, 3+ years in maintenance, and ability to read blueprints, use hand/power tools, and lift heavy

High School Diploma required.
3+ years in general maintenance/repair or related field.
Ability to read blueprints/schematic drawings.
Ability to operate hand and power tools and lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

Follow manufacturer repair instructions; repair equipment with hand/power tools.
Repair non-clinical patient equipment and furniture.
Coordinate with outside contractors for repairs and scheduling.
Respond to service calls and complete paperwork after job completion.
Maintain a safe work environment and clean work area after tasks.
Perform minor electrical/plumbing/painting/carpentry repairs as needed.
Document deficiencies and maintain preventive maintenance records.
