Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking an Electrician - Facilities Engineering to install, test, repair and replace electrical circuits and equipment across the hospital. You will monitor performance, identify hazards, and support emergency systems to ensure continuous operations.

The role requires the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues, read blueprints, and coordinate with maintenance and outside contractors. A strong safety mindset and 5+ years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Analytical ability to diagnose and resolve electrical problems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Experience with testing, diagnosing, and repairing electrical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reporting and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair lighting circuits and components across the facility.
• Maintain electrical distribution circuits and replace faulty components.
• Use meters and testing equipment to diagnose electrical anomalies.
• Repair data/communication systems and associated components.
• Maintain fire alarm and intrusion alarm systems and related equipment.
• Oversee Emergency Electrical Distributions Systems including generators and transfer switches.
