Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Aide I to maintain cleanliness and infection control across patient care, ancillary and public areas. You will perform detailed cleaning tasks and support patient safety and comfort while adhering to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year previous patient care experience preferred.
• Housekeeping experience a plus but not required. Formal on the job training provided.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimum cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary and public areas.
• Follow 5-Step Cleaning process and related departmental procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment and supplies used by the department.
• Identify medical waste and dispose of regular/medical waste properly.
• Assist with patient transport and safety checks as required.
• Maintain records of assignments and duties.
