Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is hiring an Environmental Services Aide I to maintain cleanliness across patient care, ancillary, and public areas. You will follow the 5-step cleaning process, operate equipment, and assist with patient transport as needed.

The role requires at least 1 year of patient care experience preferred, HS diploma or equivalent, and Heart Saver Certification. English proficiency is required; training is provided. Position is on-site with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year previous patient care experience preferred.
• Housekeeping experience a plus but not required.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
• Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification. Perform lifesaving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimum levels of cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary, and public areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment and move heavy objects for cleaning tasks.
• Identify medical waste and dispose of regular/medical waste following hospital regulations.
• Escort patients within the Medical Center and assist Nursing with transfers as needed.
• Follow safety, infection control standards, and hospital policies.
