Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking an Environmental Services Aide I to uphold high cleanliness standards across patient care and public areas.

Responsibilities include following the 5-step cleaning process, operating cleaning equipment, transporting supplies, and assisting nursing staff while maintaining safety and infection control standards. High School Diploma preferred; on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• English reading, writing and speaking as required by the position.
• Minimum of 1 year patient care experience preferred.
• Heart Saver Certification is required or to be maintained.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimum cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary and public areas.
• Follow the 5-Step Cleaning process and related departmental procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment and move heavy objects as needed.
• Identify medical waste and dispose of it per hospital regulations.
• Escort patients as required and assist nursing staff with transfers.
• Maintain records of assignments and ensure safety and infection control standards.
