Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Aide I to maintain cleanliness in patient care and public areas. Duties include executing the 5-Step Cleaning process, operating equipment, assisting in patient transport, and ensuring safety and infection control standards.

Minimum one year of patient care experience is preferred; High School Diploma or GED is preferred. Heart Saver Certification is required.

Qualifications

• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
• Heart Saver Certification required; lifesaving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintains optimum levels of cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary, and public areas of the hospital.
• Follows the 5‑Step Cleaning process and departmental procedures to perform duties and restock supplies.
• Operates cleaning equipment and handles heavy objects for cleaning tasks.
• Identifies medical waste and disposes of regular/medical waste per hospital regulations.
• Assists with patient transport and safety, including moving and positioning patients.
