Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is hiring an Environmental Services Aide I to maintain cleanliness in patient care, ancillary, and public areas. Responsibilities include following cleaning protocols, operating equipment, and safely assisting with patient transport.

Applicants should have at least 1 year of patient care experience, English proficiency, and Heart Saver certification. HS diploma preferred; on-site work with comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience a plus but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year previous patient care experience preferred.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
• Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification. Perform lifesaving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary, and public areas.
• Follow the 5-Step Cleaning process; dust mop, damp mop, clean rooms and restrooms, restock supplies.
• Operate cleaning equipment and move heavy objects for cleaning.
• Identify medical waste and dispose properly per hospital regulations.
• Escort patients and assist nursing with lifting and transport as needed.
• Maintain records of assignments and ensure safety of patients and equipment.
• Participate in mandatory education and in-service programs.
