Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is seeking an Environmental Services Aide I to maintain cleanliness and infection control across patient care and public areas. This role requires adherence to set cleaning protocols and safe handling of equipment, with patient transport support as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, Heart Saver Certification, and 1+ year of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
• Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification. Perform lifesaving skills.
• Minimum of 1 year previous patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimum cleanliness and disinfection in patient care, ancillary, and public areas of the hospital.
• Follow the 5-Step Cleaning process and departmental procedures to perform duties.
• Operate cleaning equipment and move heavy objects for cleaning purposes.
• Escort patients within the Medical Center to and from units and assist Nursing with lifting when requested.
