Job summary

Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, NJ is seeking an Environmental Services Aide I to uphold high standards of cleanliness and patient safety across patient care, common areas and departments.

You will follow the hospital's 5-Step Cleaning process, operate cleaning equipment, handle waste properly, assist with patient transport, and participate in mandatory training to support a safe, respectful environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience is a plus but not required.
• Minimum of 1 year previous patient care experience preferred.
• Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
• Must possess and maintain Heart Saver Certification. Perform lifesaving skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimum cleanliness and disinfection in patient care areas, ancillary areas, and public spaces.
• Follow the 5-Step Cleaning process and related departmental procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment and supplies used by the department.
• Move heavy objects for cleaning and accessibility.
• Identify medical waste and dispose of regular/medical waste safely.
• Escort patients and assist nursing with lifting as needed.
• Transport patients/deceased individuals following hospital protocols.
• Maintain records of assignments and supplies.
