Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a part-time food service worker in the Nutrition Services department to deliver meals to patients and customers. You will follow recipes, portion foods, and maintain sanitary and safe work areas in accordance with hospital standards.

Responsibilities include preparing items per diet requirements, keeping HACCP records, and supporting a clean environment. Rotating weekends are required, and a sanitation certificate is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; sanitation certificate required.
• Healthcare food service experience is a plus; familiarity with hospital dietary standards a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Follow sanitation guidelines.
• Follow recipes and preparation instructions.
• Accurately and efficiently uses cooking equipment.
• Knowledgeable of basic diet.
• Properly portions all food and ingredients per department standards.
• Prepares food to accurate consistency per diet requirements.
• Preps food items for current use and next day.
• Follows production sheets and records HACCP documentation.
• Promotes a clean and safe environment of care per SAFE error prevention habits.
• Maintains privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients and staff.
