Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL is seeking a patient-focused food service contributor. You will deliver meals to patients and customers, follow recipes, portion foods per diet requirements, and maintain sanitary work areas. Registry/PRN shifts rotate weekends and fill in as needed to support department needs.

Preferred candidates hold a high school diploma or equivalent and sanitation certification. This role is part of Nutrition Services with a strong emphasis on privacy and safe care

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Sanitation Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Follows sanitation guidelines.
• Follows recipes and preparation instructions.
• Accurately and efficiently uses cooking equipment.
• Knowledgeable of basic diet.
• Properly portions all food and ingredients per department standards.
• Prepares food to accurate consistency per diet requirements.
• Preps food items for current use and next day.
• Follows production sheets and records all related HACCP documentation.
• Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits.
• Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct.

Education

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred
