Job summary

SilverCreek is seeking a cook to manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor at a hospital/long-term care facility. You will prepare meals, follow menus, and ensure sanitary conditions.

The role requires experience in hospital or long-term care cooking, ability to read procedures and recipes, and willingness to supervise dietary staff when needed. A ServSafe certificate is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience as a cook in a hospital or long-term care facility for at least 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, clean, and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities and ensure tastiness.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides; prepare special diets accurately.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Assist with serving meals and keep work areas clean.
• Report resident care concerns to Administrator/Director of Nurses and participate in staff training.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
