Lake Charles Memorial Health System is seeking a PBX Operator to operate a multi-position switchboard, relay calls, and support hospital communications. Responsibilities include directing language line calls, monitoring emergency codes, and coordinating paging and intercom functions.

The role requires high school diploma, basic computer skills, and clear, patient communications. The operator will assist visitors, monitor alarms, and support on-call paging around the clock.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Clear and succinct verbal and written communications.

• Capability of rapid problem identification and resolution.

Responsabilidades

• Answers all incoming calls and relays to proper stations.
• Direct callers in need of language line assistance.
• Monitor generator, fire and medical gas panels for trouble and report to maintenance/security.
• Answers questions of callers according to hospital policies and regulations.
• Monitor Metasys system for alarms and alerts; notify proper department.
• Routes call to proper departments, personnel and patient rooms.
• Pages authorized personnel over intercom system.
• Announces visiting hours and other notifications (Codes).
• Acts as information center for visitors and outside callers when auxiliary workers are off duty.
• Document necessary information regarding LCMHS Emergency Codes.
• Pages and/or calls personnel on call during off hours for other staff.
• Monitors arrivals of incoming helicopters.
• Logs and notifies repair representatives of phone problems.
