Job summary

Frederick Health seeks a skilled PBX hospital operator to manage day-to-day communications, monitor alarms, and support hospital-wide paging. You will handle telephone traffic, paging, and radio communications while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to FH policies.

Responsibilities include directing calls, operating the PBX console, and coordinating with security and clinical staff. A high school diploma and 1+ year in multi-line telephone systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must maintain diplomacy with patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
• Clear verbal communication for callers and hospital staff.
• Attention to detail with accurate written and oral work.
• Ability to stay calm and prioritize during interruptions.
• Proficient typing (25 wpm) and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Answers and directs incoming and outgoing telephone traffic.
• Operates the PBX console and related equipment with competence.
• Monitors alarms and initiates emergency notifications as needed.
• Relays information to security and law enforcement when required.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and hospital information.
