Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: (None)
• Three (3) years of PBX telephone experience.
• Two (2) years of customer service experience.
• Ability to operate telephone switchboard; basic computer skills required.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; able to work in a busy, potentially stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates telephone switchboard, answers incoming and in-house calls promptly and professionally.
• Uses paging system and intercom to relay alerts and messages.
• Communicates patient needs to appropriate staff and follows HIPPA procedures.
• Maintains logs, replaces non-working phones, and monitors Phone-O-Matic systems.
• Rotates to satellite Waiting Areas to assist patients, families, and staff as needed.
• Explains hospital policies to patients and families; assists with care-related inquiries.
• Supports after-hours and weekend operations in a Team Lead capacity when required.
• Ensures safety and quality of service within budget and department standards.
