Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an experienced hospital communications operator to ensure smooth operation of the switchboard and related paging systems at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. You will handle calls, relay messages, monitor alarms, and maintain logs, supporting patient care and emergency readiness.

This role requires accuracy, quick response, and a professional presence across receiving and directing information for visitors and staff.

Qualifications

• Perform various clerical duties and operate computer equipment including the switchboard console, alphamate pager, voice-paging system, portable radios, and cellular telephone and provide information to callers and visitors.
• Handle both incoming and outgoing calls with speed and accuracy.
• Demonstrate familiarity with all code-emergency situations and the appropriate procedure to alert proper personnel and record occurrences as required.
• Act as central control for mobile pagers, take and relay messages as required.
• Respond to various alarm systems located at the switchboard.
• Issue keys that are kept at the switchboard to authorized personnel. Maintain an accurate log as to the disposition of these keys.

Responsibilities
