Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a PBX Operator for the Communications Department at St Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. This PRN, per diem role handles switchboard tasks, greeting visitors, and directing calls while monitoring alarms and adhering to emergency codes.

You will answer and route calls, assist visitors, monitor the phone system, and maintain accurate logs. Requires a high school diploma; PBX experience and strong communication skills are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Answer and route incoming calls to departments, physicians, or staff promptly and courteously.
• Assist visitors and callers with information and direct to appropriate contacts; handle emergency calls with responders.
• Monitor and maintain telephone system; report malfunctions and keep call logs and messages.
• Support communication during hospital emergencies by coordinating calls and information flow.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
