Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a part-time Communications Clerk to ensure effective paging and message routing for patients, staff, and physicians. You will operate AmCom paging, Alcatel systems, and Doctors Answering Service, handling calls with courtesy and accuracy.

Requirements include a High School diploma and 1–2 years of related experience; typing 30–40 WPM and basic computer terminal skills are preferred. The role supports after-hours coverage and hospital operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years experience preferred.
• Typing 30–40 WPM preferred.
• Experience with paging/communication systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate paging and phone systems to route calls professionally.
• Process incoming/outgoing calls for patients, staff, physicians, and public.
• Enter pager blocks and on-call information accurately.
• Report equipment issues to Telecommunications Analyst via Help Desk.
• Maintain logs and assist with emergencies and code events.
