Job summary

Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove is seeking a part-time Communications Clerk to operate the hospital paging system, AmCom and other telecom equipment. You will handle inbound/outbound calls for patients, staff, physicians and the public with courtesy and professionalism.

Responsibilities include recording and routing messages, updating on-call info, and coordinating with the Doctors Answering Service.

Qualifications

• Experience operating hospital paging and telephone systems.
• Ability to process calls for patients, staff, physicians and public.
• Ability to document messages and enter schedule information.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming calls for patients, staff, physicians and public in a courteous and professional manner.
• Process outgoing calls for staff and physicians in a courteous and professional manner.
• Handle calls on Doctors Answering Service and perform board checks for timely message delivery.
• Record and transmit messages for physicians and office personnel.
• Enter pager blocks and update physician vacation/on-call information.
• Assist patients, staff, and physicians with outgoing calls and place long distance calls.
• Report equipment issues to Telecommunications Analyst and arrange repairs.
• Assist in replacement service of patient telephones and ensure code team dispatch.
