Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years of PBX operator experience.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Basic computer knowledge and general hospital operational knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Answer all inbound and operator telephone calls promptly.
• Perform paging and emergency communications (e.g., code blue, fire).
• Maintain courteous telephone etiquette and provide accurate information.
• Operate the Hospital's public address network and radio equipment per hospital guidelines.
• Initiate emergency communications and monitor alarm and emergency lines.
• Document and report required records clearly and timely.
• Update and maintain the hospital phone directory and Xtend database.
• Uphold the Mission, Vision, and Values of St. Joseph Medical Center.
• Other assigned duties as needed.
