Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health at Monmouth Medical Center is seeking a Communications Operator to relay calls, monitor the hospital's telephone and paging systems, and ensure equipment is functional. Evening shift, per diem schedule, hourly pay range $17.12–$19.06.

The role requires a high school diploma and familiarity with switchboard communications and medical terminology; prior experience in acute or ambulatory care is preferred. Strong teamwork and adherence to hospital policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Familiarity with switchboard communications and medical terminology.
• Experience in acute care and/or ambulatory care environment; prior switchboard experience; knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Relays incoming and outgoing calls and monitors paging systems.
• Operates paging system, sounds alarms, and announces codes per policy.
• Collaborates on Performance Improvement initiatives for the Communications Department.
