Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Dispatcher/Operator to manage incoming and outgoing calls, page physicians, and provide timely information to patients and families. You will support various departments as needed and help maintain clear and efficient communication across the hospital.

Some duties include activating emergency notifications, coordinating with on-call staff, and documenting events in the operator console system. Strong English communication and multitasking are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Telephone or customer service experience beneficial.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer software systems simultaneously.
• Clear communication in English, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming and outgoing calls promptly and courteously.
• Dispatch requests and enter them into the reporting system.
• Assist physicians, patients, families, Mercy staff and the public with transfers and paging.
• Provide patient location information and locate resources as needed.
• Ensure privacy and confidentiality in all communications.
