Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a seasoned inpatient coding professional to join our Enterprise Revenue Cycle – Integrity Operations team in a full-time remote-capable role in the United States. You will research and apply coding, payer and regulatory requirements to support accurate professional and hospital coding practices.

Ideal candidates hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC), have 5 years hospital-based coding experience, and can lead audits, develop guidance, and collaborate

Qualifications

• 1) Requires AHIMA or AAPC credential (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC).
• 2) 5 years of expert-level hospital-based coding experience.
• 3) Proficient in ICD, CPT, HCPCS and regulatory guidance.

Responsibilities

• Research and interpret coding, payer, and regulatory requirements for accurate professional and hospital coding.
• Develop and maintain coding guidance, standard work, and reference materials.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and track findings.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with integrity operations, leadership, clinicians and education teams.
