Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced Professional and Hospital coder to support high-quality coding practices and auditing across our enterprise. You will interpret regulatory guidance, maintain coding references, and assist in audit coordination to improve accuracy and compliance.

The role requires AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 5 years of relevant hospital coding experience, and the ability to work independently within a remote-enabled setup.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience with electronic coding and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements to support accurate and compliant Professional and Hospital coding practices.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance and reference materials for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and verify documentation accuracy.
