WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a dedicated Food Service Worker responsible for a variety of duties from patient tray line to cafeteria service. The role focuses on delivering high quality meals and service while maintaining strict sanitation standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include prepping work areas, maintaining sanitation, portioning foods, and assisting in nutrition department coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Valid FSWP from MCHD required before start.
• Temporary FSWP allowed until permanent within 1 month.
• Must maintain FSWP throughout employment.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsabilités

• Prepares work areas for operation per task assignment.
• Fills bucket with sanitizing solution and a clean wiping cloth; maintain sanitizer strength.
• Set-up, restocks, clean and organize assigned area; maintain clean, organized appearance.
• Gathers utensils based on correct portions.
• Produces and maintains quality food and beverage products.
• Prepares attractive and appetizing foods utilizing quality ingredients.
• Prepares timely products, fresh throughout service and not in excess.
• Utilizes leftovers using the first in, first out method.
• Follows menu cycle and uses standardized recipes.
• Correctly portions food.
• Provides quality services to result in customer/patient satisfaction.
• Greets customers, asks for order and serves efficiently.
• Remains focused on the customer and service throughout the encounter.
• Knows about ingredients and allergens; asks if unsure.
• Addresses customer complaints politely; seeks management help when needed.
• Removes trash from service areas promptly.
• Cleans spills promptly and posts appropriate caution signage.
• Merchandises area with clean, uncluttered display and labels.
• Ensures all activities meet sanitation, safety and quality guidelines.
• Proper use of cleaning chemicals.
• Documents temperatures of refrigerators and dish machines as assigned.
• Alerts facilities/management of malfunctioning equipment.
• Operates, cleans and stores equipment properly.
• Cleans and sanitizes work surfaces; stores items properly.
• Stores and labels food items and chemicals correctly.
