Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Food Service Worker to perform a variety of duties including patient tray assembly, dish room tasks, and cafeteria service. You will work as part of a team to deliver high quality food and service to patients and customers.

Required responsibilities include preparing work areas, maintaining sanitization, following recipes and menus, and ensuring accurate portioning and timely service.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from MCHD prior to starting or obtain a temporary FSWP by first Wednesday.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all work areas for operation per task assignment.
• Fills sanitizer and maintain sanitizer strength throughout shift.
• Set-up, restocks, clean and organizes assigned area.
• Gathers utensils based on correct portions.
• Produces and maintains quality food and beverages.
• Prepares attractive foods using quality ingredients.
• Prepares timely products, fresh for service.
• Utilizes leftovers using FIFO.
• Follows menu cycle and standardized recipes.
• Portions food correctly and serves customers.
• Greets customers and provides courteous service.
• Addresses customer complaints calmly and seeks supervision when needed.
• Removes trash and cleans spills promptly.
• Maintains clean and organized work areas.
• Documents temperatures of refrigerators or dish machines as assigned.
