Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Dishwasher and Utility to support patient meal service and cafeteria operations. The role involves daily food preparation duties, maintaining sanitary work areas, and assisting in tray delivery while ensuring quality and timely service to patients and customers.

The position requires a valid Food Service Worker Permit, rotation of weekends/holidays, and a 40-hour work week. Location is Morgantown, WVa, with daytime shifts and non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) from Monongalia County Health Department (MCHD) prior to starting OR obtain a MCHD Temporary FSWP no later than the first Wednesday of employment and a permanent MCHD FSWP within 1 month of start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all work areas for operation, per task assignment.
• Fills bucket with sanitizing solution, maintains sanitizer strength.
• Set-up, restocks, clean and organizes assigned area; maintain clean, organized appearance.
• Gathers utensils based on correct portions.
• Produces and maintains quality food and beverage products.
• Prepares attractive and appetizing foods using quality ingredients.
• Prepares timely products fresh throughout service and not in excess (batch production).
• Utilizes leftovers using FIFO method.
• Follows menu cycle and uses standardized recipes.
• Portions food correctly and provides quality service to achieve customer/patient satisfaction.
• Greets customers, takes orders, and serves efficiently.
• Remains customer-focused; knowledgeable about ingredients and allergens.
• Addresses customer complaints politely and involves management when needed.
• Removes trash and cleans spills; maintains sanitation and safety norms.
• Cleans and stores equipment properly; tracks temperatures where assigned.

Education

Food Service Worker Permit (FSWP) - MCHD

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
