Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to support a hospital-based outpatient clinic. You will implement individualized plans of care developed by Physical Therapists, delivering skilled interventions to a diverse patient population from juveniles to geriatrics.

Graduate from an accredited PTA program, NM licensure eligibility, and BLS are required. New graduates welcome; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional inpatient rehab coverage.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nationally accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Must be eligible for or hold current licensure with the New Mexico State Physical Therapy Board.
• Current BLS required before the start of employment.
• 1+ year of experience preferred, new graduates welcome to apply.
• Clinical skills include basic computer proficiency and ability to schedule and perform patient care independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert treatment for functional mobility, motor function, and muscular strengthening.
• Follow plans of care with measurable functional goals and consider psychosocial and cultural needs.
• Lead education efforts for patients and caregivers to ensure a safe transition to independence.
• Consult with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient treatment.
• Maintain clear, timely documentation that meets guidelines and enables accurate billing.
• Occasionally support hospital needs by working in Acute Inpatient or Rehab units.
