Job summary

TEEMA Solutions Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist across outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing, rehab and home health settings.

The role emphasizes implementing personalized treatment plans, promoting mobility and functional independence while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance within the facility’s policies.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate Degree from an accredited PTA program.
• Licensure: Current PTA license in the state of practice. BLS certification preferred or required per facility policy.
• Experience: Prior PTA experience preferred; experience in outpatient orthopedics, SNF, rehab, home health, acute care or similar settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients in improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance and functional independence.
• Instruct and supervise patients in therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, transfer training and use of assistive devices.
• Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document treatment sessions, progress, goals and observations per facility policies.
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs and injury prevention.
• Maintain patient safety and adhere to infection prevention, HIPAA and facility policies.
• Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring a clean, safe rehabilitation environment.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and staff development as assigned.
• May provide therapy in outpatient, inpatient, SNF, rehab or home health settings based on facility needs.
