Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Word.

• Experience scheduling in healthcare settings recommended.
• Excellent verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedules appointments accurately and completes pre-registrations including insurance verification.
• Makes appointments from calls and orders work queues.
• Reschedules and cancels appointments and communicates with patients/families and departments/clinics.
• Coordinates multiple appointments across departments.
• Delivers positive customer service when greeting patients and providers.
• Provides patient instructions prior to appointments as directed.
• Provides directions and parking information as needed.
• Sets up appointment reminder calls in the system.
• Verifies eligibility and updates registration when patient information changes.
• Requests referrals and pre-certification numbers from PCPs at scheduling time.
• Ensures patients have necessary information for timely arrival and proper billing.
