Qualifications

• The position is open to candidates 18 years or older with a high school diploma (or equivalent) OR currently enrolled in High School.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical and verbal communication skills; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representative to obtain personal information and verify data for admission/registration.
• Obtain and witness signatures on admission documents and initiate advance directive process.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
• Operate multi-line switchboard and respond to pages and calls; document messages as appropriate.
• Monitor hospital paging/radio systems and alarms; respond per policy.
• Cross-train within the department for pre-admissions, outpatient care, and switchboard functions.
