Job summary

Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro, OH is seeking a Registration/Switchboard Associate for part-time admissions and patient data entry. You will interview patients, verify information, collect signatures, and help maintain privacy and safety throughout the registrar process.

You will operate a multi-line switchboard, paging and radio systems, monitor alarms, and support pre-admissions, outpatients, and the registration workflow with courtesy and accuracy.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older with a HS diploma or currently enrolled in high school.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently.
• Physical requirements: corrected vision, hearing, legible writing, standing, bending, reaching, lifting.
• Sit or stand for long periods and tolerate stressful situations.
• Exposure to pathogens and unpleasant patients or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or representatives to collect and verify admission/insurance data.
• Obtain or witness signatures on admission conditions and initiate advance directives.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patients.
• Operate multi-line switchboard and process calls timely.
• Operate hospital paging and radio systems; take messages and document.
• Monitor hospital alarms and respond per policy.
• Maintain message and key log.
• Cross-train to cover pre-admissions, outpatients, physicians, and switchboard.
• Demonstrate communication and organizational skills with staff and community.
• Greet guests with a warm, professional greeting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
