Job summary

Hawthorn Senior Living is seeking a Dining Room Server to provide courteous, friendly meal service to residents. You will support daily dining room operations, maintain presentation, and assist with cross-training in other roles as directed by supervision.

The role emphasizes strong communication with residents, adherence to sanitation standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while upholding Hawthorn policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to perform serving duties and carry trays.
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents during meal service.
• General knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to work well in a busy environment as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular on-site attendance as scheduled.
• Follow Hawthorn Senior Living Employee Handbook and policies.
• Maintain dining room cleanliness per guidelines (vacuum, dust, wipe surfaces).
• Serve meals/beverages and assist residents with tasks as needed.
• Set tables for next meal and complete side duties (sugar/creamer, beverage station).
• Deliver meal trays to resident apartments as necessary and assist with opening packages.
