Ascension St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking an adult-focused Palliative Care Physician to join an employed team within a busy health system. You will lead inpatient consultations and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ease complex symptoms, guiding goals of care and discharge planning.

Flexible scheduling options including 5–8 hour days or 4–10 hour days are available, with call commitments.

Qualifications

• MD/DO licensure in Indiana required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

• Call structure: 1 night/week, 1 weekend/month.
• Practice setting: Inpatient.
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Palliative Care Medicine.

• Provide inpatient consultations and lead patient rounds with clear goals of care.
• Develop proactive discharge and transition plans (including hospice).

• Manage complex pain and distressing symptoms, providing comprehensive psychosocial and spiritual support to elevate the patient's and family's quality of life.
• Lead collaborative efforts with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure seamless coordination and holistic care throughout the patient's illness journey.
• Provide timely inpatient consultation services and lead patient rounds, defining clear goals of care to guide critical clinical decision-making.
• Develop proactive and personalized discharge and transition plans (including hospice), ensuring continuity of evidence-based medical practice.

About the Facility/Team

• 840 bed hospital
• Level 1 Trauma Center
• Serves diverse, statewide population primarily focusing on Marion County while acting as a referral center for all 92 Indiana counties.
• Integrated referral network
• As a Level 1 Trauma Center, leading Cardiovascular, Stroke and Oncology programs, we work with
  exceptional, highly skilled clinicians to provide the best, most appropriate care to patients with complex
  diagnoses.

  specialists, PCPs, Palliative Care teams and Hospice.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
