Three Oaks Hospice is hiring an Office-Based Medical Assistant to provide essential administrative support to the medical and clinical staff. You will handle calls, refill requests, and document actions in the Electronic Health Record, while coordinating with providers to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of clinical assistant experience, with strong communication and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 1 year of experience as a medical assistant
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office software preferred
• Excellent customer service skills with clear communication
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented with follow-through
• Must work well with a team and show flexibility

Responsibilities

• Enters information into the Electronic Health Record.
• Answers phone calls from patients, physicians, and facilities regarding clinical items.
• Sends medical transcriptions to referring providers as needed.
• Assesses medical and education needs of the patient and provides education as directed by the provider.
• Reviews the provider's schedule to ensure patient flow.
• Follows up on orders, labs and imaging as needed.
• Obtains Prior Authorizations.
• Manages medication refills.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
