Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospice seeks a passionate Hospice Consultant (HC) to educate patients, families, and referral sources about early hospice benefits and services. You will advocate for compassionate care, build trusted relationships with hospitals, home health agencies, and clinics, and represent the organization at community events to raise awareness.

In this role you will plan outreach, share our mission with clarity, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely referrals.

Qualifications

• Compassionate, mission-driven approach to serving others.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• Experience in healthcare, sales, community outreach, or relationship-based roles.
• Prior hospice or home health experience is a plus.
• Strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, SNFs or home health professionals.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a knowledgeable resource and advocate for patients and families, helping them understand hospice options and the benefits of early support.
• Share our mission and services with compassion and clarity, helping referral partners feel confident that their patients will be cared for with expertise and kindness.
• Build and strengthen relationships with hospitals, home health agencies, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, clinics, and physician offices.
• Engage in meaningful conversations with healthcare professionals about patient needs and how hospice care can enhance comfort and quality of life.
• Plan and carry out thoughtful outreach efforts to increase awareness of hospice services and encourage timely referrals.
• Represent Good Shepherd Hospice at community events, professional associations, and educational in-services.
