Job summary

VITAS Healthcare seeks an Admissions/Scheduling coordinator to manage hospice referrals and schedule timely admissions. You will work with multiple teams to align resources, confirm appointments, and maintain exceptional customer service.

The role requires experience with medical terminology, call-center environment, and strong communication skills. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus, with high attention to data accuracy and scheduling efficiency.

Qualifications

Two or more years related experience in medical terminology or in an administrative/call center environment.
Ability to achieve goals in a fast-paced setting with strong discretion.
Excellent communication to build partnerships with internal and external callers.

Responsibilities

Process new referrals aligning with referral source needs and intake processes.
Offer and confirm same-day or near-term appointments for timely hospice admissions.
Coordinate appointments with VPC/Admissions and related teams as guided.
Participate in morning check-in meetings to review staffing and scheduling for the day.
Maintain data accuracy and use scheduling tools to update appointments.
Provide concierge-level customer service in every interaction.
Escalate issues to leadership as directed and support continuous training.
