Howard Community College’s Horowitz Center seeks a part-time technician to support events, manage AV, lighting, and computer equipment, and handle setup and teardown. The role is part of a rolling pool for available positions.
The Technician ensures safety per fire codes, assists with stage prep, runs lighting/audio consoles during events, and returns the venue to its original state after each use, working with the Production Electrician as needed.

Applications will be put into the pool for available positions when available. Hiring is done on a rolling basis as the need arises. The Horowitz Center Technician provides technical support to facilities users hosting events in Horowitz Center venues. The Technician will operate audiovisual, lighting, and computer equipment and is responsible for the setup, running, and tear‑down of the assigned event. The Technician will also monitor the venue to ensure safety per Howard County Fire Safety codes.
Successful candidates should have a moderately strong understanding of theatrical lighting, professional audio systems, professional video/projection equipment, digital audio consoles, Windows and Mac computer systems, knowledge of QLab and Microsoft Office software, as well as excellent customer service skills. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. from floor to table height, work in high places (on catwalks), climb ladders and stairs, and have a keen sense of hearing and vision.
