Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking Horizontal Construction Engineers to operate bulldozers, roadgraders, and other heavy equipment to clear sites for roads, airfields, and buildings. You’ll level earth, clear sites, and assist in construction tasks while training for civilian careers in construction.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ages 17–35 and able to pass a physical exam.
• Enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.
• Citizenship as per NATIONALGUARD.com details.

Responsibilities

• Level earth for runways and roadbeds.
• Clear, excavate, and dig areas of construction sites.
• Spread fill material and move heavy materials with cranes.
• Operate heavy construction equipment to clear the way.
